We've closed the books on another year and it's time for some reflection.
In our last post we celebrated top diversity stories. In this post, we share another one of our favour annual traditions, the top diversity marketing blunders of the past year.
It gives us the opportunity to think about all that diversity adds to the workplace -- creativity, innovation, and productivity. But it also allows us to think about what diversity helps us avoid: group-think, ignorance, and the blind spots that homogeneous groups can have. Diversity also helps organizations avoid the 12 misguided or offensive products or marketing campaigns that we highlight here.

Diversity also helps organizations avoid the 12 misguided or offensive products or marketing campaigns that we highlight here.
As we begin 2016, organizations should reflect on the diversity of their workplaces and think about what they are missing because of a lack of diversity -- What insights are we missing? Which groups are we not appealing to because our products or marketing are missing the mark or are offensive? Which groups are we not serving or not serving appropriately?
Diversity in the workplace brings so much to the table, including insights into how these blunders could have been avoided in the first place.
As a society, we should also think about the importance of teaching history in our schools, and the value of a well-rounded education as young people, and indeed all of us, work in an increasingly global environment.
